Yesterday, I had the honor of hosting and chairing a captivating talk by Prof. Dr. Benyamin Rosental from the Comparative Immunology Laboratory at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel at the Fraunhofer-Institut für Molekularbiologie und Angewandte Oekologie IME.
His presentation, “From Cancer and Pregnancy Immunology to Stem Cell Therapy in Corals: The Use of Biomedical Tools in Non-Classical Model Organisms,” offered an incredible exploration of alternative model organisms—ranging from cnidarians and corals to planarians, mice, and humans.
Prof. Rosental’s innovative approach in applying biomedical tools to these diverse organisms is paving the way for new therapies and advancing our understanding of complex immunological processes. It was a privilege to witness such groundbreaking research firsthand!
